During Refugee Week, communities, schools, government agencies, businesses, organisations and individuals across Australia celebrate and welcome refugees. In 2026, celebrations were held from 14 to 20 June. From its beginnings as a small local event in the 1980s, it is now a global movement!
This report provides an internal evaluation of 2026 Refugee Week activities coordinated by the Refugee Council of Australia. It is based on information submitted to the Refugee Week online events calendar, analysis of digital tools – including our website, social media platforms and Canva – feedback from event organisers, media coverage and a debrief with RCOA staff.
