Refugee Week Official Launch: Food, Stories & Soul

Join us as for the national launch of Refugee Week at Grub Fitzroy.

For our Refugee Week theme; ‘Share a Meal, Share a Story’, we will be putting on a 3-course smorgasbord of delicious middle Eastern food, cooked by people who have come to Australia as refugees and brought to you by Free to Feed.

While you eat, people from Australia’s refugee communities will join you to break bread and share their stories of freedom and belonging.

We will also tickle your eardrums and satiate your soul with live spoken word from the inimitable Flora Chol.

We have a very limited number of tickets due to venue capacity, so snap yours up now before they sell out.

All money raised will go towards paying refugee community members who have provided services on the night. Any remaining funds will go towards supporting the advocacy of the Refugee Council of Australia, the national peak body for refugee communities and the organisations that work with them.

This event is made possible by the kind support of the City of Yarra, Brotherhood of St Laurence and Grub Fitzroy.

The Refugee Council of Australia acknowledges that this event takes place on the land of the Wurrundjeri people of the Kulin nation. We pay our respects to elders past, present and emerging.
