The Addison Road Street Markets are a celebration of food, music arts and crafts from the home countries of refugees that have settled in Australia. Each stall is run by refugees celebrating their culture and promoting the diversity of communities in Sydney. Stalls feature cuisines from all over the world including Thailand, Iran, Sri Lanka, Sierra Leone and Ethiopia.
The market has been running on the first and third Saturday of the month since 2016, building a diverse community celebrating the rich contribution that refugees make when they settle in Australia. By providing a place for refugees to learn new skills and create an independent income, the street markets encompass what Refugee Week is all about.
The markets are held at 142 Addison Road, Marrickville.
